Allan Water Angling Improvement Association 1911 -2011
The First Hundred Years.
A potted history of the Association since May 1911 taken from the minutes of meetings over 100 years with details of office bearers since it was formed and catch statistics from 1927 onwards.
The author also takes a brief look at the River Allan’s distant past when, as historical and geological evidence shows, the river upstream of Ashfield was a loch. There is also an up to date and very detailed description of the river and its tributaries today. That alone, coupled with a few anecdotes from the author’s past, makes this booklet a worthwhile read.
The booklet has not yet gone to print and demand will determine the size of the print run andthe price. It is expected however to be about £7 or £8 and anyone who would be interested in a copy should contact tomfish20@btinternet.com
